The Oscar Night America event, scheduled for Sunday, February 22, 2009 has been cancelled. “Due to the current economic situation we are all facing, we feel it is better to skip this year and revisit our fundraising initiatives in 2010,” said Jimmy Foster, President of Whispering Giants, the special events company organizing the event.

After nearly six years as one of Las Vegas’ top nightclubs, Body English is set to shutter its doors for good immediately following their final New Year’s Eve bash at the end of 2009. While we are sad to see this Vegas veteran finally laid to rest, our mourning turns to excitement as the Hard Rock is in the process of developing their next major nightclub. Internally referred to as “the new Body English,” the currently unnamed new 18,000 sq ft venue will open December 31st, 2009 inside the new Hard Rock tower that is currently under construction. No word on whether Timmy, Body English’s 3ft tall elevator operator, will make the transfer…

Two Las Vegas staples are changing venues. Tony and Tina’s Wedding has moved from the Rio to the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. The show is located on the Mezzanine level just outside of the Living Room in the former High Limit Gaming area.
