EYE SPY

Posted in: Las Vegas Gossip

It was another all-star weekend at TAO and LAVO. On Friday at TAO, Ben Roethlisberger, quarterback for Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers and his teammates gathered to celebrate their big win. The group of twenty including the Steelers’ Willie Colon, Darnell Stapleton and Trai Essex dined at TAO Asian Bistro, with the hungry athletes devouring most of the menu including Wasabi Filet, Lobster Kimchee Fried Rice, Thai Buddha Chicken and Satay of Miso Glazed Bass. Throughout the meal fans stopped by and they graciously signed autographs. Upstairs in the nightclub, the scene was no different as fans clamored around their VIP table for pictures and autographs. Pro golfer Anthony Kim joined their table on the dance floor and the group drank Cristal and Grey Goose. At another table in the club, Nip/Tuck star Kelly Carlson was spotted drinking champagne with a few friends. Also quite a fan magnet, the friendly actress posed for pictures with club goers. She took the LAVO/TAO Escalade golf cart back to The Palazzo, where she is staying, hoping off briefly for one spin at roulette, where her bet on red won. Over at LAVO inside The Palazzo, Oscar winning actor Adrien Brody dined with TAO Group partner Noah Tepperberg and a group of friends. Dining nearby at LAVO was E! Entertainment Television personality Ben Lyons, who got up from his table to say hello to Brody. Also spotted at the bathhouse inspired destination, reality TV star Kristin Cavalieri, who first found famed on MTV’s Laguna Beach. After dinner all were seen in LAVO’s second floor nightclub partying to the sounds of DJ FIVE. Well past midnight the group traveled via the LAVO/TAO Escalade golf cart to finish the night at TAO.

Over at The Bank, actor Josh Henderson from Desperate Housewives and 90210 and his girlfriend, actress Taylor Cole, toasting with Dom to Cole’s upcoming appearance on Heroes.

TONIGHT’S BEST BET

Posted in: Las Vegas Gossip

Illusionists Siegfried and Roy will give their final performance ever tonight at the Keep Memory Alive benefit dinner at the Bellagio. This is the first time in five years that the duo will appear on stage after Roy Horn was attacked by their tiger Montecore back in October 2003. Tonight’s performance is expected to last 15 minutes and no one knows if any of the animals the duo have used in their previous act would make an appearance. Siegfried and Roy’s performance will air March 6 in a one-hour special on ABC’s “20/20.”

BOYD GAMING OFFERS TO BUY STATION CASINOS FOR $950 MILLION

Posted in: Las Vegas Gossip

Boyd Gaming Corp. has made a $950 million offer to acquire a significant portion of locals gaming rival Station Casinos, the company announced Monday in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Boyd Gaming currently operates nine casinos in Las Vegas and Henderson. Under the proposed deal, Boyd Gaming would acquire the bulk of Station Casinos’ 18 Southern Nevada properties, including Green Valley Ranch Resort, the recently opened Aliante Station, Santa Fe Station, Texas Station, Wild Wild West, the two Fiesta properties in Henderson and North Las Vegas, and several smaller nonhotel gaming businesses, such as the Wildfire.

Station Casinos would retain ownership of the Red Rock Resort, Palace Station, Boulder Station, Sunset Station and 356 acres of undeveloped land the company controls in the Las Vegas Valley. Those four casinos have almost $2.5 billion in debt tied to them, according to a Station Casinos’ filing with the SEC last August.
