On March 25, 2004, Barrick Gaming purchased four of Jackie’s downtown casinos for $82 million.  Gaming legend Jackie Gaughan celebrated his 89th birthday today at the El Cortez.  Jackie Gaughan is  has been a casino owner and operator for almost 60 years. 

Jackie Gaughan purchased the El Cortez casino,  formerly owned by Bugsy Seigel.  Siegel had sold it to finance the Flamingo.On March 25, 2004, Barrick Gaming purchased four of Jackie’s downtown casinos for $82 million.
