STEVE PERRY, FULL HOUSE, THE SUGARHILL GANG -- AND ME
The Las Vegas nightlife scene was jam-packed this weekend with famous musicians, models and actors, including Hip Hop pioneers The Sugarhill Gang, former Journey lead singer Steve Perry, notorious party girl Tara Reid and – get this – most of the cast of the television show “Full House.”
The very lovely Playboy Playmate cover model Tamara Witmer celebrated her 24th birthday alongside the bikini clad Hawaiian Tropic Zone girls at Hawaiian Tropic Zone inside Miracle Mile Shops Saturday.
Steve Perry, formerly of Journey, attended the 7 p.m. Saturday performance of the Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil at the Mirage. Perry reportedly loved the show and went backstage afterwards to meet, LOVE Music Playback Engineer, Gavin Whiteley. The acclaimed singer spent an hour talking with Whiteley about the LOVE Music Playback System, his knowledge of the technology really impressed Whiteley, the engineer who built and programmed the system. Steve: Whatever you do, DON"T STOP BELIEVING. HOLD ON TO THAT FEELING.
Two time Winter Olympic gold medalist, speed skater Apolo Ohno partied Saturday night at The Bank Nightclub at Bellagio with Real World Las Vegas (MTV) star Trishelle Cannatella at his side.
Ryan Cabrera was also in the house last night at The Bank along side Drew Brown of the hit band One Republic.
Also at The Bank were Super models Tiiu Kuik and Sara McNeilly, who celebrated their birthdays with one big bash Vegas style this weekend. Kuik, McNeilly and model Michelle Buswell were all spotted dancing the night away.
Body English’s Smashtime at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino was the spot for more than one celeb sighting over the weekend.
Now, I meant it when I said it was a ferocious weekend in Las Vegas. My life was no exception. I gathered for a fantastic dinner at Ago in The Hard Rock Sunday night with a very eclectic – and unlikely -- group of friends. There was me; former Gators then Tampa Bay Buc’s left-handed quarterback Bob Hewko; Ambassador of the Seminole Tribe and former Chief Joe Dan Osecola; NFL great and Washington Redskin, Rick “Doc” Walker; and Utah socialite Eric Bailey. We were at a table right next to Dennis Haskins, the Bayside High principal Mr. Belding on “Saved By The Bell.” Haskins was dining and discussing new television with my dear friend and mentor Robin Leach. The lot of us went into Body English for Haskins’ appearance at "Spring Break." We were joined by the band One Republic and my longtime friend and “Saved By The Bell” Fan Ryan Cabrera.
Also at Body English over the weekend, Jeff Ma was the guest of honor at a release party for the film “21.” The story is based on Ma’s life.
So was – no lie – most of the cast members of “Full House." The show is one of the longest running and most-watched television shows. Like, EVer. Spotted there on Sunday were Danny Tanner, Bob Saget, John Stamos (who played Uncle Jessie) and David Lee Coulier (who was better known as Uncle Joey on the show).
In the absence of the Olsen Twins were music impresario Tommy Lipnick, "Weekend at Bernie's" actor Jonathan Silverman, and "Daily 10" host Sal Masakela.
In a related note on Friday night, Bob Saget performed in front of a sold-out crowd inside The Joint. The crowd went crazy when John Stamos made a surprise appearance on stage during one of Saget's comedic performances on the guitar. That same evening, Saget enjoyed an intimate dinner with friends at Nobu. Stamos, Saget and Coulier were also seen catching some sun at a cabana outside at the Hard Rock pool both Friday and Saturday afternoon.
Meanwhile, notorious party girl Tara Reid was spotted around town during an evening of drinking and dancing on the Vegas Strip club scene. She was spotted in a flashy black sequined mini dress, accented with black satin trim. Looking completely refreshed and rejuvenated after her recent Mexico vacation, Tara rocked sun kissed skin and beautiful blonde locks in soft cascading curls.
LAX Nightclub was majorly rocking Saturday night as mixed martial arts fighter Frank "Twinkle Toes" Trigg and DJ Paul from the Academy Award-winning hip hop group. Three 6 Mafia joined the wild scene. Hanging out on the VIP stage for most of the evening, Trigg entertained a group of lucky fans while sipping on Voss water and enjoying the view of the sexy scene. As DJ Vice spun a mind-blowing set on the turntables, DJ Paul partied with an entourage of ladies while sipping on Dom Perignon Champagne until the early morning hours.
Just north on The Strip at PURE Nightclub, frequent guest and former heavyweight champ, Mike Tyson enjoyed the sights of the beautiful mega-club as he sipped on Voss water and mingled with club goers at his plush VIP table.
Outside of Las Vegas and down in paradise, Aura Nightclub rocked the Bahamas with a frenzy of celebrities. Kicking off the evening, the group that started it all, The Sugarhill Gang, stopped in for a birthday celebration and performed a few of their hit songs including "Rapper's Delight." (Hotel, Motel, Holiday Inn …)
Also making Aura his party spot of choice last night was NY Giants tight end Jeremy Shockey who drank Heineken beer with a beautiful lady and a large group of friends at his swanky VIP table. For the second night this week, NASCAR racing pro Elliot Sadler partied with his friends drinking Grey Goose all night in the VIP Round Room.
Go, Vegas!

I am so disgusted with Apolo Ohno! I used to have a ton of respect for him but now he's gone so Hollywood. Hanging out with Trishelle is so gross. You've disappointed me Apolo!
STEVE STILL LOOKS GREAT. sOMEBODY IS TAKING GOOD CARE OF HIM. I HOPE HE IS HAPPY AND WILL SHARE HIS VOICE AND MUSIC WITH US AGAIN.
Apolo deserves some downtime. The man just won a World Championship and helped the US team win it's first Team Championship.
All that aside, I highly doubt a few nights out in Vegas during his OFFSEASON are going make him go "Hollywood."
Apolo has better sense, I'm sure.
Apolo! What are you doing with Trishelle?!
I thought you tried to push for a wholesome, family friendly image. I guess you're going after a completely different image now. I guess we can expect pics of you with Paris and Britney next. I liked you better the other way. :(
